5.1. Introduction
This video explains how to enable and use Forte’s stereo-to-mono conversion feature, allowing you to automatically identify and convert fake stereo and hard-panned tracks to mono during import.
5.2. Enabling stereo to mono conversion
- Open Forte Import and go to the Customize section in the settings.
- Locate the Stereo to Mono checkbox and enable it.
5.3. Configuring what gets converted
- Click the gear (cog) icon next to the stereo to mono option to access detailed settings.
- Choose which types of tracks you want Forte to convert:
- Fake Stereo: Stereo files with mono content will be converted to mono.
- Hard-Panned Stereo: Stereo files panned fully left or right will be converted to a single left or right channel.
5.4. Saving and applying settings
- After configuring your preferences, click Save to confirm your settings.
- From now on, whenever you import audio files, Forte will automatically detect and convert fake stereo and hard-panned tracks to mono, streamlining your mix preparation.
